Linked-In Profile:

One of your most important tasks as an expert in your industry is managing and protecting your personal brand. In the internet world this is often difficult due to the widespread use of social networking applications. When your relative tags you in a photo on FaceBook or a friend makes a comment about the weekend party you attended, you have no control over that.
While you can’t control all of the information that is on the web, you can influence what others see when they search your name by taking some proactive steps. One of these is to join Linked-In and create a profile.
There are many reasons to join Linked-In from a business perspective, such as building relationships with industry colleagues and researching potential clients but in this report, we’ll focus on creating a strong profile and increasing your visibility as an expert. When your profile is complete and robust, professional contacts will be able to find you easily and will see the information that you want to share rather some random data that pops up in a search.

Circle of Influence

The purpose of this exercise is for you to recognize the power of influence that ten people in your life have over you, your self-esteem, and productivity. People can motivate you and propel you to seek bigger and greater things or they can sabotage your efforts and hold you back. People can also attempt to make you feel inferior if you let them. After completing the questions for each person, you may see that it is time for you to divorce some of the people in your circle of influence. It may also be time to sit down, have a frank conversation with others, and let them know that there is trouble in your relationship. As you grow personally and professionally, you may find you have out grown people and that others have outgrown you. I often hear my clients talk about friends and family being jealous of their successes. This is a great exercise to use to see if the big green ugly monster is biting you. This is a great exercise for one on one client sessions

Are you charging what you’re worth?

If you provide a service or specific product the consumer often thinks that the time you spend with him or her is pure income for you. The consumer does not take into consideration all the time that you spend behind the scenes getting ready for that client session or designing that custom cake, drape, or premier wedding or event. But, are you guilty of this limited thinking too? Do you know what hourly rate you would like to receive? Do you know how many hours you actually spend with a client? This includes not only the client session but the work that must be done behind the scenes.

Create Your Personal Brand

We’re all familiar with product brands, like iPhone or Coca-Cola. When you hear those names an image automatically pops into your head. You might think of the Apple iPhone as cool and easy to use. You may think of Coca-Cola as a refreshing drink.

You probably have memories of times that you used those products or saw someone else use them and you’ve made a judgment call about the value of those brands to you. You might think – ‘I’ve got to get one of those iPhones so that I can have the latest and greatest gadget. You may think – ‘Coca Cola isn’t for me. I don’t like soft drinks’. The commercials for those brands focus on certain aspects of the product that they want to highlight and that distinguishes them from their competition. They have a signature style which attracts those clients who want to experience the values portrayed in the commercials.

Just like a product, each of us has a personal brand, whether we consciously manage it or just let it happen. Your personal brand is what other people think about you when they hear your name. I’m sure you would agree that you want to project a brand image that is consistent with your life mission and goals. That’s the quickest way to be successful: branding yourself by tying your life mission and passions to your business image. That creates a unique and unbeatable combination that will attract your ideal client or job.

This 3-Part Personal Branding Action Guide will show you how to examine your core values, identify your strengths and knock down the roadblocks that are holding you back. More than just a quick fix or cosmetic update, it’s designed to give you the opportunity for self-reflection and to show you how to articulate your personal mission and brand.  It will teach you a lot about YOU and what YOU truly want.

Stop the Snatchers and Grabbers.

these are the people that will suck the free out of you. If you intend to stay in business you must learn to defend yourself and your business from the Snatchers and Grabbers. Snatchers and Grabber appear to be a very hot lead or prospect. They masquerade as being interested in your service or product. Snatchers and Grabbers are overly nice and chummy. They will say things like “Oh, I’ve wanted to meet you.” Then when they capture your attention WHAM they hit you with the questions. The question will not be a general question. The questions they ask will be soliciting very specific information; typically information that you provide for a fee. Snatchers and Grabbers are not your friends. Your friends would never ever think of asking you to give them a service or product for free. Friends respect the friendship and would not ever do anything to jeopardize the relationship. If you felt taken advantage of or used – the person was a Snatcher and Grabber.
